Tetra Tech integrates equality, inclusion and diversity approaches across programs to foster better sustainable development outcomes.
In every community and context, there is the capacity for deeper inclusion and more equitable and just access to economic, political and social resources and opportunities. For Tetra Tech, inclusion is our end goal. We work for a world in which individuals and communities thrive within systems and structures where they belong because the systems and structures were designed with and for them.
Our architecture for inclusion
Tetra Tech’s architecture for inclusion guides our delivery to ensure we effectively embed gender equality, disability equity and rights and social inclusion across all programs. This framework supports consistency in our approach, clarity for Tetra Tech people and partners and a vision that we strive towards in all of our work. It identifies six entry points and processes to support inclusion across all our work internally and externally – across the whole cycle of operational policies to the highest levels of accountability.
Across each entry point, we apply our core principles:
- Focus on ‘intersectionality’
- Be locally led and decolonial
- Be internally and externally aligned
- Be brave and accountable
- Value learning, collaboration and reflection
- Pursue transformative change for sustainability
- Do no harm
Approach to drive lasting change
Working closely with our partners, Tetra Tech addresses the structures and systems that cause harm to people who continue to be marginalised and oppressed. This includes working with people who are excluded and disadvantaged on the basis of their gender, ability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression and sex characteristics (SOGIESC), ethnicity, caste, religion, migration status and socio-economic status.
