In partnership with the Government of Vanuatu, Tetra Tech manages the Vanuatu Australia Education Support Program (VAESP), a key component of the Australian Government’s investment in Vanuatu’s education sector.

The VAESP represents a long-term commitment by the Australian Government to bolster the education sector in Vanuatu, working in close collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET). Spanning from September 2013 to December 2026 across two phases, the program has been instrumental in supporting the Government of Vanuatu’s strategic education sector plans, including the crucial integration of the Australia Awards Vanuatu in its second phase.

Phase 1: Setting the Stage (2013-2019)

VESP Phase I laid the groundwork by renewing the primary education curriculum and enhancing teacher training, significantly improving literacy and numeracy outcomes for early grades. This foundational work prepared the path for broader educational advancements across Vanuatu.

Phase 2: Broadening Horizons and Enabling Futures (2019-2026)

Building on the achievements of Phase I, VAESP Phase II extends its impact into junior secondary education and incorporates the Australia Awards Vanuatu. It focuses on inclusive education, improved learning outcomes and the professional development of alumni, achieving widespread curriculum adoption and continuing to elevate educational standards in Vanuatu.
