Australia Assists is an initiative funded by the Australian Government to deploy skilled humanitarian specialists globally. These experts assist multilateral agencies, governments, civil society, and communities to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters and conflicts.
Through our management role of Australia Assists, Tetra Tech is helping the program get humanitarian assistance to countries and communities in need. The program aims to save lives, alleviate suffering, and maintain human dignity during crises, while enhancing preparedness for such events.
Our role and impact
Building on the foundational success of the predecessor program that ran from 2017-2024, Tetra Tech’s work involves the strategic deployment of humanitarian specialists who bolster the operational capacities of our partners, enhance policies and practices across climate resilience and disaster preparedness, and ensure that interventions prioritise equity, inclusivity, and local leadership.
The specialists from the Australia Assists roster are mobilised across the Indo-Pacific region and globally, providing essential support before, during and after humanitarian crises to achieve sustainable and strength-based outcomes.
