Tetra Tech has been integral to the Timor-Leste Police Development Program (TLPDP), providing advisory services, capacity building and training in collaboration with Australian Federal Police advisors.

Initiated by the Australian Federal Police in partnership with the Policia Nacional de Timor-Leste (PNTL), the TLPDP aims to enhance the rule of law and justice in Timor-Leste. It focuses on building a professional, effective, and human rights-respecting police service, contributing to the country’s stability and governance.

Our role and impact

Now in its third phase, the program continues to strengthen the PNTL’s capabilities to uphold law and order with an emphasis on human rights.

Tetra Tech supports a multistakeholder approach involving the Australian Federal Police, the Government of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, PNTL and civil society to enhance security and justice through specialist advisory services. This collaboration aims to fortify Timor-Leste’s police force as a cornerstone of democracy and rule of law.
