Advancing human resource development in Vietnam

Tetra Tech implements the Aus4Skills program, under Aus4Vietnam, a 10-year skills development partnership between Australia and Vietnam.

Funded by the Australian Government, Aus4Skills is fostering collaboration between government, private sector and academia to deliver targeted human resource development initiatives in higher education, vocational education and training (VET) and public sector leadership.

Aus4Skills aims to support Vietnam to build human resource capacity to take advantage of emerging economic opportunities and achieve long term development in line with the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership signed between the two countries in 2024.

Highlights

Supported Vietnam to create the Logistics Industry Reference Council, connecting government, industry and VET colleges to ensure Vietnam’s VET delivers graduates with skills and expertise needed by employers.
Manage up to 90 Australia Awards scholarships annually.
Engaging with a dynamic community of over 110,000 alumni.
Established the Vietnam Australia Centre, the centrepiece of the Vietnam-Australia bilateral relationship.

Our role and impact

Tetra Tech manages all aspects of Aus4Skills across five components. This includes facilitating the prestigious Australia Awards Scholarship program, which provides scholarships for Vietnamese current and future leaders to study postgraduate education in Australia, with a focus on women and marginalised groups. Tetra Tech is also cultivating a network of alumni who leverage their enhanced knowledge and skills for economic and developmental advancements, enhanced Vietnam-Australia relations and advancing equitable leadership opportunities.

Aus4Skills is delivering initiatives to improve the quality of Vietnam’s tertiary education sector, with tailored technical expertise on skills development, targeted support for selected higher education institutions, and a successful project to bring together stakeholders from government, academia and the private sector to enhance the work-readiness of graduates in Vietnam’s logistics sector.

Aus4Skills also incorporates the Vietnam Australia Centre, which was established in 2022 to unite Australian and Vietnamese experts to support Vietnam’s leadership to address national, regional and international challenges.
